Learn Local Class: IT Security for Business

Description

This is a COHORT Certified course and an opportunity for members to gain business skills and grow relationships. Each course completed leads to graduation and an opportunity to be accepted into the Cohort Alumni Development (CAD) Program. This class is led by Jeff Salter, a cybersecurity educator with nearly 40 years of experience in technology, instructional design, and higher education. Formerly professional faculty in the University of South Carolina’s College of Information and Communications, he taught information security courses developed with Check Point Software Technologies and helped create virtual cybersecurity labs with Microsoft and Check Point. He now serves as an AI in Business Adjunct Instructor at Midlands Technical College, where he continues to bridge emerging technology and practical business applications. He holds a Master of Media Arts in Digital Media Technology from USC. In this session, "IT Security for Business," you will learn how IT security is essential in business and how it protects sensitive data, financial assets, and critical systems from cyber threats that can disrupt operations and damage customer trust.
