About
Still Hopes is celebrating 50 years as the only Episcopal-sponsored, non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in the greater Columbia area. We are one of the midlands' premiere retirement communities spanning 44 acres in beautiful West Columbia.
Born of a gift of the Guignard estate by Dr. Jane Bruce Guignard, an average of 400 seniors call Still Hopes home. Most live independently in apartments and cottages. For those needing additional support, we offer assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing. In additional 170 community residents receive in-home care from our homecare division, Solutions for Living at Home.
We are thrilled to introduce a new middle market, wellness-focused independent living retirement community on the grounds of the former Richland Two School District administration offices. Called Brookland Commons, it will marry Still Hopes commitment to quality with a lifestyle that you, the residents, shape. More choices, more options, and designed to help you stay on track for healthy aging. Come visit our sales office at the corner of Knox Abbott and 9th Avenue to see what all the fuss is about!
We appreciate every one of our almost 700 employees from throughout the midlands who work in culinary arts, facilities care and management, health and wellness, nursing and certified nursing assistance, life engagement, administration, and Human Resources. Our commitment to living well, to health and wellness for all, and to exemplifying a new expectation for senior living has earned us:
- Best Of The Midlands Retirement Community by both the Columbia Metropolitan Magazine and the Free Times for many years running.
- recognition as one of North America's Top 20 Senior Living Wellness Programs for three years.
- recognition for Still Hopes' homecare division, Solutions For Living At Home, as Best of Home Care Leader in Experience (highest recognition), Provider of Choice, and Employer of Choice awards for three years running.
- recognition as one of Columbia's Top Places to Work in South Carolina. We happily offer meaningful jobs in a range of specialties and a comprehensive suite of employee benefits, including our resident's love and appreciation!
