About
At the Center for Heirs’ Property, we believe every family deserves the security, opportunity, and pride that comes with owning their home and land. Rightfully Home is more than a name. It’s our promise to help families protect what’s theirs, resolve what’s complicated, and reclaim what’s been lost.
Rooted in South Carolina, we work side-by-side with families to safeguard their land, resolve heirs’ property issues, and grow the value of their legacy. Whether it’s untangling titles, crafting wills, or stewarding wooded land into sustainable income, we provide the legal tools, education, and support to build generational wealth and long-term stability.
I’m Kayra Rice, Community Engagement Specialist at the Center for Heirs’ Property. I serve Lexington, Aiken, Barnwell, Calhoun, and Orangeburg Counties—connecting directly with families through seminars, community events, and presentations tailored to their needs. I hold a B.A. in Political Science from the University of South Carolina and an A.S. from the Early College STEM Program at Fairfield Central High School.
Here’s how we support our communities:
- Legal Services: We assist families in clearing titles, creating wills, mediating conflicts, and pursuing quiet title actions to secure ownership.
- Forestry & Land Education: We show families how to transform wooded land into productive landscapes, such as sustainable tree farms that generate income and preserve value.
- Community Outreach: Through workshops, presentations, and events, we share knowledge that empowers families to take action.
If your organization is interested in partnering with us or hosting a seminar in your community, from an information table to a full heirs’ property presentation, I’d love to connect.
Let’s work together to preserve family legacies and build a future where more people can say with confidence: This land is ours.
